Ivaylo Jechkov: Tom, you are the new member of Dipset. How it happen, thinking out loud?
Tom Gist: Exactly, “Thinking out loud” was a mixtape that I released a few years back and Cam got his hands on it. He liked what he heard and reached out...we here now.
Cam’ron gives you an opportunity to be a part of his anticipated mixtape “Public Enemy #1”. What kind of work was that for you?
It was great work for me. I’m a studio rat and being a part of that was big for me.
How can you describe “Got Gist?” mixtape?
Me and my homie DJ Six put that together and I’ll describe it as timeless. My goal is to always make timeless music.
Your lyrics are not typical, what’s inspiring you?
My struggle inspires me. I’ve been grinding for years now, but I’m learning every step of the way. My pain is in my lyrics, so is my joy, so is that crack.
Harlem is your home. Which thing is the greatest there?
Harlem has a certain aura about it, thats great to me. You almost know Harlem people soon as you see them.
Now you probably prepare a major album debut. Is this like dreams come true or you want more?
It’s part of my dreams coming true. I wanna do movies and music ya dig...change the world.
Make some wishes for the Bulgarian fans of Dipset and rap music?
