Ivaylo Jechkov: Is it hard to build a career on that early age?
C-Le: Yes, it is. You really never know what you are going to be or how you will end up. You worry a lot about the decisions you make and if it's a right choice. I followed my dream and went through a lot of trouble to get where I am today.
You did a lot of work so far. What gives you a power to do this?
Inspiration. I set a goal in my life and I followed it since day one. I met the right people in the industry and connected. Networking is the key power to success in the industry! This had lead me to do work with Christina Milian, Sean Kingston, The Game, Dipset, Cool and Dre and countless other majors in the industry.
How important is the good education for you?
Education is very important in my field of graphic designing and music video directing. You need a good solid understanding of the basic art principles and computer skills. If your in high school, take a lot of computer and art classes, they play the essential role of building your skills up for the industry.
Hip-hop graphics is something new. Is this a part of things that can save the rap game and urban culture in the near future?
Actually, hip-hop graphics has been around since hip-hop started. But graphics is something that is needed in the hip-hop industry, it basically shows the visuals of the music and the meaning. Before, graphic designers never got any attention in the industry till today. Now graphic designers can be award Grammys, Justos and all sorts of awards. Graphics will always be needed in the future. Who knows how the grapics will look like, but visuals are needed always.
Is it strange for you to have so many fans of your art work?
Nah, I love it! I'm glad so many people around the world are respecting my artwork.
You are the lead designer of Game’s label Black Wall Street. Did you feel this like a big responsibility?
Very big responsibility. I have to do a lot of designing for the team and make sure everybody looks good. Everybody has projects coming out every month, so I got to balance out my time well and finish up on the projects.
What’s inspiring you for the video directing?
Hype Williams and his music videos inspired me. Also, the graphics they do now days on music videos like the Talib Kweli "Listen" video inspired me to shoot music videos.
Can you give some advises for the young people, who wants to make career like yours?
Stay in school and keep a strong goal in your life. Follow it and find the right paths to it. Anybody can be successful if you know how to pursue your dream. It takes time and effort so you have to be very patient.
